Berkeley, CA: Counterpoint and its imprint Soft Skull Press are pleased to announce that Earlita Chenault assumed their newly created position of Publicity Manager. She was most recently Publicity Manager at New Harbinger Publications, where she worked for nine years. She is a member of the Northern California Book Publicity & Marketing Association (NCBPMA) and the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ).
While she has spent the last decade as a publicist, Ms. Chenault began her career in publishing working in sales & marketing for Hunter House Publishers after a tenure in merchandising and inventory management for J.C. Penney Co.
“We are thrilled to have someone with Earlita’s experience on board,” enthuses CEO and Publisher Charlie Winton. “I’m looking forward to excellent things from our newly energized publicity department.”
For her part, Chenault says she is especially delighted to have a chance to work on Counterpoint and Soft Skull’s diverse list of literary fiction and non-fiction. “I’ve been very fortunate over the last dozen years to work on books that helped people make positive changes in their lives and communities. This job is going to fulfill the bookworm in me.” She says, noting that she already has a stack of Counterpoint titles at home to read.
